During the closed-in Covid-19 pandemic times beginning in 2020, I found myself spending time outdoors every single day - walking and listening, smelling, looking deeply. The more chaotic and scary the news from the larger world, the closer my attention to the tiny parts of the natural world around me. And as I walked, I took photographs.

When I am feeling overwhelmed by the darker parts of modernity, I return to the photos from my daily outdoor jaunts - I feel my breath slow down, my shoulders drop, my mind relax. I share some photos with you with the hope that they help you find some peace as well. And that your sense of connection to the rest of nature is deepened.

I haven't quite mastered how to do this photo page - trying to be patient! I think I will switch up the "gallery" periodically.
Today we are seeing close-ups of water and ice. I love watching how water behaves on its own, how it changes with the temperatures, and how it interacts with leaves and rocks and branches. I love reflections, and the sparkles that come from the play of light on water. It is magic!
